Jane Dough

     One of the most the most played and popular radio station here in Fayetteville, NC is 99.1 The Fox "The Big Stick" This radio station is known mainly for Rap and R&B.  The reason I wanted to talk about this station is because I had to interview one of the top lady DJ there at the radio station! She is a professional in the radio and broadcasting industry in Fayetteville NC and falls into the field in which I am pursuing.  I had the opportunity to stop in and check her out and see what she does on a normal work day.  Jane Dough is well known throughout Fayetteville NC for her involvement in the community and her hard work that she always show everyday on Foxy 99!  Radio and Broadcasting is no stranger to her because she came from a military family where she was able to travel and meet many people.  She started early in her education in the music industry in junior high.  She obtained an associate's degree in Applied Science in Broadcasting Production Technology.  She also worked at one of the top News Stations in Raleigh NC, News 14.  She started out early in her passion which makes her the successful host that she is today!
     Jane Dough's current role is the "Midday Queen", she comes on the air immediately after the Russ Parr Morning Show.  Russ Parr is known throughout the country for it's comedy and current R&B and Rap music and airs Monday-Friday.  She is reponsible for answering emails, filling out request sheets, survey sheets, and play music.  Everything is fast paced for this professional DJ, so she has to make sure she stays positive and professional at all times.  She is also known as the "Phillipino Princess" because of her looks and because she is Phillipino.  She's a very nice person and very down to earth, when you meet her, you feel like you known her for a while.  She always has a smile and she's about business.  She understands her role as a host/DJ and does it well.  Of course there are conflicts that come with any part of business, guests who flirt, situations where clients and promoters get upset with her for things beyond her control.  Her status is of someone who is very well respected, hard working, sweet, generous, determined, and plays a big part in the community.  She's always doing things to help others, whether it's with the school or helping tornado victims.  She keeps everyone updated on where you need to go and mingle and have a good time.  She also networks on twitter and facebook with her followers and involved in talent within the area and also with celebrities when they come to the area or out.  She does a phenominal job in everything she does while keeping a postive attitude.  I love listening to her when she's on the air! She has a charismatic personality and a people person.  When I start my career in radio and broadcasting I definitely will follow in her footsteps.  Everyone that works with her in the studio loves her dearly and she's easy to work with.
